Moles can cause havoc with your yard. The most common moles are:

Eastern Mole (common mole)

The eastern mole is native to North America (United States, Canada, Mexico) and is the most widespread.  The Eastern mole will dig both shallow and deep tunnels.   Molehills are the result of excess soil from burrowing.  Once per year, the eastern mole has litters of two to five young and they are on their own in four weeks. It’s best to trap the moles early so they can’t reproduce.  The young are born from mid- March on.    If you have moles in your yard, you have a healthy eco system with plenty of food for them.  Eastern moles can get out of hand pretty quickly and Stewart Pest Solutions can set up a trapping program to fit your needs.

Star Nosed Mole

The star-nosed mole is a very unique looking animal that is generally found in wetter areas.  Common to the eastern United States,  the star-nosed mole relies on the sensory organ on its nose to find edible food.  It only takes 8 milliseconds to decide if what they are sensing is food or not.  As the star nosed mole is tunneling through your yard looking for food, it will create molehills and raised tunnels.  One interesting bit of information is that when near water, the mole tunnels will exit under water.  Call Stewart Pest Solutions before your lawn is ruined.modern-custom-built-residential-home-newly-constructed-with-a-2-car-garage-in-a-residential-neighborhood Home Pest Control Services
